Primary Presence

While NARQIA allows residents to move freely between different Forms of Presence, the city also recognizes
the human need for rhythm, stability, and orientation. This is where the concept of Primary Presence
becomes essential.
Primary Presence defines the main way a resident organizes their time and engagement inside the city. It is
not a restriction, a hierarchy, or a permanent choice. It is a point of reference that helps the city adapt to the
resident — not the other way around.
Every resident selects one Primary Presence when they enter NARQIA. This selection reflects practical
realities such as location, access, routine, and personal comfort. Some residents are naturally grounded in
physical spaces, others rely on connected environments, and some feel most engaged through immersive
interaction. NARQIA respects these differences without assigning value or status to any of them.
It is important to understand what Primary Presence is not. It does not define where a resident belongs,
how advanced they are, or how committed they appear. It does not grant advantages, unlock exclusive
content, or accelerate progression. Primary Presence exists purely to establish rhythm and continuity.
In practice, Primary Presence influences how the city schedules interactions, sends notifications, and
structures expectations. It allows the city to meet the resident where they naturally are, rather than forcing
them into a single fixed pattern. This design choice prevents fatigue, pressure, and disengagement.
Despite having a Primary Presence, residents are free to switch between all Forms of Presence at any time.
A resident may attend physically one day, continue digitally the next, and explore immersively later —
without resetting, reconfiguring, or reintroducing themselves. The city remains synchronized across all
forms.
This flexibility is intentional. Human lives are not static, and NARQIA does not attempt to freeze residents
into a single mode of participation. Primary Presence simply provides a stable center around which
movement can occur naturally.
Primary Presence can also change over time. As a resident grows, relocates, or adjusts their lifestyle, they
may update their Primary Presence to better reflect their current reality. Such changes do not affect
identity, level, location, or recognition. The city adapts quietly and seamlessly.
By separating rhythm from progression, NARQIA avoids a common pitfall of digital systems: equating
availability with commitment. A resident’s value in the city is never measured by how often they appear or
through which channel they enter.
Primary Presence supports balance. It helps residents maintain a sustainable relationship with the city
rather than an intense or overwhelming one. The goal is long-term growth, not short-term engagement.
In NARQIA, structure exists to protect freedom.
Primary Presence is one of the city’s most subtle systems, yet it plays a crucial role in keeping the
experience human, adaptable, and respectful of real life.
The city does not ask residents to conform to it.
It adjusts itself around them.
